About the Program

The Co-Financing Program for Energy-Efficient Stoves is implemented within the framework of the project "Support for the Implementation of Forest Sector Reform in Georgia to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Forest Degradation."

Under the grant agreement "Support for Forest Sector Reform through the Promotion of Energy-Efficient Measures," signed on December 22, 2021, between the Rural Development Agency and the German International Cooperation Society (GIZ), and approved by the Government of Georgia's Decree No. 2116 on November 29, 2021, the agency is implementing the energy-efficient stove co-financing program. This program includes: Co-financing or reimbursement of the cost of verifying compliance of energy-efficient stoves with defined criteria (parameters) for manufacturers, both individual entrepreneurs and legal entities.; Co-financing of the cost of energy-efficient stoves for adult Georgian citizens who represent a household.

Program Goals and Objectives

The goal of the program is to stimulate demand among the population for purchasing energy-efficient stoves.

The program's objectives focus on environmental protection in rural areas, sustainable use of natural resources, and support for climate change mitigation measures. It aims to achieve these by co-financing the purchase of energy-efficient stoves for households in rural regions.

Program Implementation Area

The program is implemented throughout Georgia, except in self-governing cities.
