A memorandum has been signed between the Rural Development Agency and the foundation “Swisscontact - Georgia.” The Swisscontact Foundation is cooperating with the Rural Development Agency within the framework of the “SME Development Project in Regions.” The project is implemented by a consortium of Swisscontact, Mercy Corps, and The Springfield Center with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

Hazelnut farmers must register their orchards in the Hazelnut Cadastre by April 30, 2025, to participate in the state program.
The program will be implemented in the regions of Imereti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Guria, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti, as well as in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
Up to 70% of the cost of seedlings to be purchased will be funded. For agricultural cooperatives, villages near the dividing line, and highland settlements, the funding will be up to 80%.
With the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and organized by the Rural Development Agency, six Georgian companies participated in the international exhibition "Foodex Japan 2025," held in Tokyo, Japan.
