Receiving applications for the exhibition selection competition are accepted from 12:00 on June 9, 2026, until 18:00 on June 23, 2026

On March 9–12, 2027, the Foodex Japan 2027 international exhibition will be held in Tokyo, Japan.

In 2026, more than 3,200 companies from 76 countries participated in the exhibition. The exhibition was visited by more than 73,000 visitors from around the world. Detailed information can be found on the exhibition’s official website.

Organized by the LEPL Rural Development Agency, companies producing food and/or beverage products will be able to participate in the exhibition.

To participate in the exhibition selection competition, you must meet the following criteria:

  • The produced products must correspond to the content of the international exhibition;
  • During participation in international exhibitions within the previous one calendar year, there must have been no violation of contractual obligations;
  • Must not have any ongoing court, enforcement, or other legal proceedings/disputes with the Agency;
  • Must not have any tax liabilities to the state (except where the collection of tax liabilities owed to the state has been deferred or the obligation to pay has been suspended on the basis of law).

In case of complying with compliance criteria, the evaluation will be done by assigning points to the relevant indicators:

Indicator Score
1.      Annual turnover of the enterprise for the last calendar year
1.1    Enterprise (from 0 GEL to 500,000 GEL) 1
1.2   Enterprise (from 500,000 GEL to 5,000,000 GEL) 2
1.3   Enterprise (from 5,000,000 GEL to 20,000,000 GEL) 1.5

2.     Possession of an international food safety management system/standard certificate for the relevant product and/or a conformity assessment certificate issued by the LEPL National Food Agency 2.5
3.     Export of products corresponding to the exhibition content carried out within the last 3 years prior to submitting the application to the Agency 2

To participate in the exhibition selection competition, you need to register on the website, fill out an electronic application, and upload the following documents:

  • A copy of both sides of the authorized person's identification document;
  • Extract from the Register of Entrepreneurs and Non-Entrepreneurial (Non-Commercial) Legal Entities;
  • Certificate from LEPL Revenue Service confirming the absence of debt;
  • Document issued by LEPL Revenue Service confirming the beneficiary’s annual turnover for the previous calendar year;
  • Certificate of international food safety management systems/standards (if available);
  • Document confirming export activity (if available);
  • Other additional documentation, if requested by the Agency.

For participation in the international exhibition, your evaluation score must be at least 3.5 points. In the event of equal scores, the principle of sequence will apply in the selection of companies.

If, after completion of the review of applications received within the framework of a specific exhibition, the number of positive/approved applications is found to be lower than the number of potential beneficiaries determined by the Agency for that exhibition, participation rights will also be granted to companies that have fully submitted the documentation required under the program but failed to accumulate the minimum score provided for by the program.

When selecting applications, priority will be given to applications that have accumulated the maximum score. If applications have equal scores, the date of submission of the application to the Agency will be taken into consideration.

If the relevant conditions provided under the program are met, information regarding the preparation of the agreement will be communicated to you by the LEPL Rural Development Agency.

Note:

  • Considering the specifics of the exhibition, the Agency will ensure the transportation of samples within the determined weight limits. Participants will be informed about these conditions and permissible quantities after completion of the selection process. At the same time, the Agency will not ensure the transportation of perishable product samples, including fresh fruits and meat products.
  • Due to the specifics of the exhibition, selected participants may be required to cover, at their own expense, the cost of interpreter services and/or other related services. Participants will be informed accordingly after the completion of the selection process.
  • Importing product samples into Japan is associated with relevant import and quarantine procedures; therefore, additional documentation, certificates, and/or information placed on product packaging (labels) may be required. Among them, for the import of samples of nut crops (hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, and others), it is mandatory to present a phytosanitary certificate issued by the relevant state authority of Georgia.
