Beneficiaries of the Rural Development Agency affected by the heavy snowfall in February of the current year in the regions of Imereti and Guria will receive financial assistance
By the decree of the Government of Georgia, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture's Rural Development Agency has established a special assistance program to provide financial support to beneficiaries affected by the heavy snowfall in February 2025 in the regions of Imereti and Guria.
Applications to participate in the program will begin to be accepted by the Rural Development Agency starting in July.
Financial assistance will be granted to the beneficiaries of the following programs: the State Programme of Dairy Modernization and Market Access (DiMMA), the Pilot Program for Women, and the Co-financing of Processing and Storage Enterprises. Financial assistance is also provided to beneficiaries who have established processing and/or storage enterprises, and/or livestock (cattle or small ruminants) farms, and/or greenhouse farms under the Preferential Agrocredit Project.
The program provides for a one-time grant as follows: 25,000 GEL for greenhouse farms; 40,000 GEL for livestock farms (cattle and/or small ruminants); 100,000 GEL for processing and/or storage enterprises.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture is also working on another financial support mechanism aimed at eliminating damage caused by the heavy snowfall of February 2025 in western Georgia. Specifically, blueberry producers in Imereti, Guria, and Samegrelo will benefit from a preferential agrocredit to cover one operational year’s expenses.
