Within the framework of the state program, points have been added to agrocards for hazelnut farmers

Within the framework of the promotion program for the production of hazelnuts, the process of accruing agropoints was started in parallel with the registration of orchards in the hazelnut cadastre. In the period up to April 30 of the current year, all farmers registered in the nut cadastre will be credited with appropriate points.

As of March 31, 2024, more than 40,000 hectares of hazelnut orchards have been registered across the country under the program.

Nut farmers should apply to the regional offices of the Rural Development Agency for registration in the nut cadastre. Registration of gardens will be carried out until April 30, 2024. Across the country, 9 regional offices of the Rural Development Agency are functioning. Meetings with farmers of representatives of the nut cadastre working group have already been held in the villages.

The Rural Development Agency reminds farmers and interested parties that in order to participate in the state program, a citizen of Georgia must own and/or actually own a hazelnut orchard, totaling not less than 0.2 ha and not more than 3 ha. The amount of the subsidy is determined by calculating 500 GEL per 1 ha of hazelnut orchard.

The subsidy is given to the persons involved in the program by accruing the corresponding points on the Liberty Bank agro-card. Before visiting the bank to activate the agro card or to get a new card, you can check the information about crediting the points on the card on the website of Liberty Bank https://myliberty.ge/?id=agro

The deadline for using points accrued in specialized agricultural stores is August 31, 2024.

It should be noted that in 2023, within the framework of the hazelnut production promotion program, points were awarded to 61,418 unique beneficiaries, the area was 43,952 ha. The equivalent amount of accrued points is 21,976,355 GEL, of which 20,922,693 GEL was cashed out by the beneficiaries.

Hazelnut production promotion program is implemented in all municipalities of Georgia, except self-governing cities.
