Meeting Held on Agri-Food Product Export Issues

The Deputy Director of the Rural Development Agency, Giorgi Avaliani, participated in the panel discussion, "Strengthening the Export of Georgian Agri-Food Products to the EU Market – Challenges, Opportunities and Partnership," held on the issues related to the export of agri-food products.

According to Giorgi Avaliani, the Rural Development Agency's support covers the entire agricultural value chain cycle, which includes support for primary agricultural production and the product storage and processing stage, as well as assistance in the implementation of international food safety standards, packaging and branding, participation in international exhibitions, and support in identifying new export markets.

"Our goal is not only to support exports, but also to strengthen the process that ensures the establishment of competitive Georgian products in international markets," noted the Deputy Director of the Rural Development Agency, Giorgi Avaliani.

The panel discussion was attended by representatives of state institutions, international organizations, sectoral associations, and exporters of agri-food products.

The aim of the event was to analyze the existing trends in agri-food product exports, discuss the needs of exporters, and deliberate on the main directions of the existing legislation in this field.

The meeting was organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in cooperation with the European Business Association (EBA).
