With the support of the Rural Development Agency, a new greenhouse farm has been established in the village of Ozhio, Akhmeta Municipality

Farmer Ilia Nakhucrishvili set up a 500 sq.m greenhouse farm within the framework of the state program "Georgian Vegetables from Greenhouses," where he cultivates lettuce. Within the framework of the program, the Rural Development Agency fully finances the interest rate on the loan taken by the farmer — 50,000 GEL — for a period of 24 months. According to the terms of the program, the farmer will also receive additional funding in the amount of 13,500 GEL from the Rural Development Agency.

The Director of the Rural Development Agency, Giorgi Darchia, together with the First Deputy State Representative of the Kakheti Region, Platon Kalmakhelidze, visited Ilia Nakhucrishvili's new greenhouse farm.

According to Giorgi Darchia, the program "Georgian Vegetables from Greenhouses" is another great opportunity for farmers to receive support from the state and establish greenhouse farms, which will contribute to the growth of vegetable production in the country.

The program "Georgian Vegetables from Greenhouses," implemented by the Rural Development Agency since 2024, has 57 beneficiaries. For the creation of greenhouse farms on 9 hectares of land, more than 9 million GEL in loans have been issued by commercial banks. The Rural Development Agency will fully cover the interest rate on the loan for 24 months. After meeting the program’s objectives, beneficiaries will be reimbursed 30% of the loan amount as additional funding.
