An information meeting on the “State Agro Co-financing Program” was held in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region
At a meeting held in Zugdidi, the Acting Deputy Director of the Rural Development Agency, Besik Macharashvili, provided local government and self-government representatives, farmers and entrepreneurs with detailed information on the financing conditions and participation criteria of the “State Agricultural Financing Program”.
The agricultural financing program includes co-financing components for the construction of primary production, processing and storage enterprises, as well as facilities for slaughtering food animals (slaughterhouses). Within the framework of the program, a preferential agricultural credit is also available, which provides for the financing of fixed and working capital.
A registered entrepreneur (individual entrepreneur) or an entrepreneurial legal entity can benefit from the program.
The total amount of the Agency’s co-financing within the framework of the program is determined at no more than 2 million GEL. Different conditions apply to farmers interested in setting up a dairy farm.
Within the framework of the program, the Agency's co-financing is determined to be no more than 50% of the total cost of the submitted project, and for cooperatives with agricultural status, for projects to be implemented in villages adjacent to the dividing line and high-mountain settlements - no more than 55%.
The meeting was attended by Irakli Topuria, Deputy Director of the Rural Development Agency, and Giorgi Nadaraia, Deputy State Representative in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region.
