100 women were financed within the framework of the "Pilot Program for Women" program

The director of the Rural Development Agency, David Tsitlidze, visited the greenhouses created within the framework of the "Women's Pilot Program" in the Marneuli municipality and met with the women who are beneficiaries of the same state program, who came from the municipalities of Van, Chkhorotsku and Chokhatauri to learn about the activities of the greenhouses in Marneuli.

The meeting was attended by Tinatin Odilavadze, the head of the Secretariat of the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Zuran Fangani, the Deputy Mayor of Marneuli Municipality, and representatives of the Standing Parliamentary Council for Gender Equality and the United Nations Women's Organization.

"After the successful implementation of the first stage of the women's pilot program in Marneuli and Lagodekhi municipalities, in addition, we made it available for women living in Chokhatauri, Van and Chkhorotsku municipalities to use the mentioned program. 100 women living in targeted municipalities were given the opportunity to organize a greenhouse", - noted the director of the Rural Development Agency, Davit Tsitlidze.

In order to share experience, the visit of beneficiaries from Chkhorotsku, Van and Chokhatauri municipalities to Marneuli municipality was organized by the Rural Development Agency. It is worth noting that the sharing of experience among farmers and the provision of field knowledge is one of the activities outlined in the 2024 action plan of the extension services of the Rural Development Agency and is carried out every month.

"Pilot program for women" was implemented in Marneuli and Lagodekhi municipalities in 2022, within the framework of the memorandum signed between the UN Women's Organization and the Rural Development Agency. In 2023, the program was financed by the Rural Development Agency in the municipalities of Chokhatauri, Van and Chkhorotsku. Within the framework of the program, the co-financing provided in 2022-2023 exceeds 1.8 million GEL.
