Presentation of the "State Agro Co-financing Program" Held in the Kakheti Region
The Rural Development Agency presented the new "State Agro Co-financing Program" to representatives of the local government and self-government of the Kakheti region, farmers, and entrepreneurs in Gurjaani Municipality.
"The State Agro Co-financing Program will come into effect on July 1. In order to inform representatives of local authorities and farmers about the opportunities and conditions of the program, the Rural Development Agency will hold information meetings in all regions of Georgia," said the Director of the Rural Development Agency, Zurab Gozalishvili.
According to the State Representative in the Kakheti Region, Platon Kalmakhelidze, the "State Agro Co-financing Program" will support the transition to a new stage of agricultural development in the region.
During the meeting, participants received detailed information about the objectives of the program, the funding conditions, and the areas that will become eligible for support starting from July 1, 2026.
Within the framework of the program, co-financing will be available for the establishment of perennial crops, greenhouse farms, the creation and development of livestock and poultry farms, beekeeping, aquaculture and mariculture farms. In addition, farmers and entrepreneurs will benefit from co-financing for processing and storage enterprises, preferential agro-credit, and support mechanisms for the construction and modernization of slaughterhouses.
State co-financing is determined at up to 50% of the project value. Agricultural cooperatives, as well as projects implemented in high-mountain settlements and villages adjacent to the occupation line, will receive an additional 5% co-financing.
The aim of the program is to introduce modern, efficient, and climate-adapted technologies in the agricultural sector, which will contribute to increased production, improved product quality, and compliance with market demands.
