Terms definition

Program – State Tea Plantation Rehabilitation Program GEORGIAN TEA;

Agency – N(N)LE Rural development Agency;  

Property Agency – LEPL National State Property Agency;

Business entity – legal entity (including an agricultural cooperative) registered in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Entrepreneurs willing to participate in the Program, except for legal entities founded and/or created through the State and/or municipality shareholding;

Program beneficiary – business entity, which is one of the parties to the Agreement on Co-financing within the scope of this Program;

Tea plantation – agricultural land plot, where tea plants are cultivated, including state-owned tea plantations;

State-owned tea plantation – tea plantations which are identified under the procedure defined in this Program and the list of which is published on the official website of the LEPL National State Property Agency (hereinafter the Property Agency) within the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia;  

Rehabilitation works – list of works to be performed for the rehabilitation of tea plantations, which is developed by the N(N)LE Rural development Agency; (hereinafter the Agency) in cooperation with the LEPL Agricultural Research Center;

Agro-technological plan – agro time-bound action plan for the performance of works in tea plantations on a seasonal/annual basis, which covers the period until full tea plantation harvest, but no less than 36 months from the effective date of the Agreement on Co-financing

Primary tea leaf processing – activities which include but are not limited to the following operations: withering or fixation-withering of crude tea leaves picked in the tea plantation, tea leaf rolling, drying;

Production plan – annual amount of tea produced as a result of primary crude tea-leaf processing.

 Effective date of the Agreement on Co-financing:

a) the date of signing the Agreement on Co-financing by the beneficiary if the beneficiary owns the rehabilitating tea plantation within the scope of the Program;

b) the date of concluding a lease agreement with the Property Agency if the beneficiary does not own the rehabilitating tea plantation and plans to receive tea plantation on lease from the State.
