The Director of the Rural Development Agency, Davit Tsitlidze, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Latvia, Irakli Kurashvili, hosted the Latvian Minister of Agriculture, Armands Krauze, at the Georgian stand.

With the support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and organized by the Rural Development Agency, a Georgian national pavilion was presented for the first time at the international exhibition SIAL SHENZHEN in Shenzhen, China.

This program will benefit all individuals whose land plots are irrigated by systems rehabilitated under the "Georgia Irrigation and Land Market Development Project." 

Initiated by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the Rural Development Agency has launched a new program for individuals interested in creating greenhouse farms. The program aims to promote the production of annual agricultural crops across the country through the implementation of modern climate-smart technologies.

According to preliminary data, this year’s non-standard apple harvest will be approximately 50,000 tons. To ensure that the produced goods are not left uncollected, farmers do not face difficulties in selling their harvest, and they receive income, a state program to support the sale of non-standard apples will be implemented this year as in previous years.

Producers from different regions of Georgia offered guests of the event Georgian honey, tea, juices, wine and various kinds of traditional sweets, including churchkhela, dried fruit, and tklapi. The exhibition presented a variety of traditional Georgian and European cheeses.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Otar Shamugia, together with the State Representative of Samtskhe-Javakheti, Besik Amiranashvili, and the Deputy Director of the Rural Development Agency, Natalia Kharatishvili, visited the "Geo Flower" fruit and medicinal plant processing enterprise in the village of Klde, Akhaltsikhe Municipality.

Supported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and organized by the Rural Development Agency, an exhibition-sale of Georgian agricultural food products was held in a tourist-active area of Tbilisi, on Vekua Street.
