The process of collecting non-standard apples is actively underway
Nine fruit-processing enterprises participating in the state program purchased 2,195 tons of non-standard apples. As a result, farmers received over 554,000 GEL in revenue, with the state subsidy component exceeding 219,500 GEL.
The state program for "Facilitating the Sale of Non-Standard Apples" was launched on October 13 of this year to support farmers during the harvest season.
Under this state program, non-standard apples are being purchased by fruit processing enterprises located in the Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, and Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions.
The program provides a subsidy of 10 tetri per kilogram of non-standard apples. Participation is open to any fruit processing enterprise that, by December 18, 2026, purchases non-standard apples from individuals engaged in fruit farming at a price of no less than 25 tetri per kilogram.
To ensure the organized collection of non-standard apples, a coordination headquarters has been established by decision of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
